The Dark Days Are Over
Happiness, hit her like a train on a track Coming towards her, stuck still no turning back She hid around corners and she hid under beds She killed it with kisses and from it she fled With every bubble she sank with a drink And washed it away, down the kitchen sink

There is this relationship between dark and light. Only by knowing darkness can one truly appreciate the light. Without evil, we would not understand good. Only after experiencing loud noise, do we truly appreciate the absence of sound. If we never experienced hurt or sadness, would we truly feel joy and happiness?
Once we allow quiet, peace, serenity, and space, we experience life. Space is freedom, and life is there, in the space. In the present moment, not worried about the past, or fearing the future, but now. This moment. Happiness is less in the doing and more in the being. Breathe, relax, have fun and enjoy the many gifts life offers. Retain the past, don’t forget, but keep it as lessons learned. About others, and yourself.
It is truly an epiphany, that all your problems, struggles, and fears are under your control. You can choose to live in fear. We have the freedom of choice, and though it may not seem so, we are ultimately in charge of ourselves. Our decisions, our choices, our life, this is an empowering revelation. It’s a relief.
When you have reached your lowest point, you have nothing left to lose, you may be curled up in a corner, believing the whole world is against you. If you give the darkness space and time, it will wash over you and like a wave it will pass. That is all anyone really needs is space and time, acknowledgment. To be seen and heard. Once you stop fighting and resisting, the darkness will dissipate and light will find it’s way in again. It is in the nature of light to find it’s way through the dark. The dark days are over. You’re free, to become the butterfly. And as soon as you realize that, happiness is waiting for you. No more hiding, pretending, numbing, or running. Take a breath, this is the moment. The first day of the rest of your life. The Dark Days are over, embrace the light, and let your light shine.
