Currently residing in Kew Gardens, New York, Melissa has been teaching piano and voice privately in her home for the past five years. Melissa holds a B.F.A. in Theatre from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied musical theatre at CAP 21 and abroad in London. Melissa has performed in theaters across the country from New Hampshire to Ohio and many productions here in NYC. Specializing in musical theatre, she teaches her students how to perform the song while you learn proper technique. She strives to improve skills and confidence, as well as build knowledge about the entertainment business.
She is also a proud teaching artist for the "Dancing Classrooms" program for American Ballroom Theatre, under the direction of Pierre Dulaine (as seen in the movies Mad Hot Ballroom and Take the Lead). Right now, she is bringing the joy of dance to 5th graders in Jamaica and Corona, Queens.
You can also find her teaching Private Ballroom lessons at Destination Dance Studios in Forest Hills, Queens. If you want to learn you can also find her at the Thursday night Adult Ballroom class at Studio E in Fresh Meadows.
Melissa created the Kew
Gardens Cuties, a performing group
of children ages 5-15, bringing the joy of musical theatre and
entertainment to the community of Queens. You can check out these cuties by going to the Media Page and watch their adorable performances.
Most recently, Melissa has become a certified Music Together instructor. She is currently making music with infants and toddlers at Studio E on Sundays and Tuesdays.
